Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsibilities include filing of AES and management of the AES export compliance. Routinely working with trans-load facilities, USDA/FGIS entities and inspectors along with Independent laboratories to provide documentation for the preparation of the export documentation. Drafting and preparing documents, and, negotiation of documents with buyers, banks, and under letters of credit for international shipments of commodities in containers. Involves a certain amount of negotiation and Issues resolution. Individuals have extensive knowledge of products, general pricing and term structures, as well as detailed knowledge of specific transactions. Works with commercial, credit ,legal, and other operations staff to ensure that all correspondences satisfies applicable legal, regulatory, investment, operating, and fiduciary requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains relationships with customers, banks, government entities, and freight forwarders on shipments of grain and grain by products for export.
  • Assist merchandisers/traders with contractual concerns in coordinating shipments of commodities domestically and internationally.
  • Responsible for reconciling reports.
  • Extensive customer service responsibilities including resolution of problems and discrepancies as well as building relationships.
  • Learn and effectively utilize all applicable financial and operations systems.
  • Fully understand all aspects of invoicing and trade analyst functions and the applicable system.
  • Perform and manage the detailed analysis of a broad range of financial tasks including freight variance, basis and futures pricing, inventory balances, shrink, open contract review and applications, open shipment review and valuation, accounts receivable review and valuation.
  • Collaborate as needed with Logistics on changes to contract applications and tolerances, split shipments and rolled bookings.
  • Collaborate with Logistics on all quality and shipment issues until finite.
  • Working with accounts payable on validating ocean freight, ocean statements, drayage and any other associated costs relating to export shipment.
  • Monitor all outgoing wires with suppliers and engage the payables department to ensure accurate coding in the balance sheet.
  • Monitor accounts receivable for counterparty accounts and ensure timely receipt of invoice payments
  • Additional sales/accounting support as defined
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related work experience required.
  • 1 + years experience in a trading environment preferred, or 3 + years in a business environment.
  • Personal computer proficiency, prefer experience with SharePoint, Excel and, Microsoft Word.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem identification and resolution.
  • Experience with international contract terms and bank letters of credit preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exacting and detail oriented.
