Trading Intern Summer 2023

Flow Traders is looking for entrepreneurial, competitive, and analytical students to join our New York Trading team as a Trading Intern in Summer 2023. Spend your summer experiencing what it’s like to be a Trader at Flow in the financial capital of the world!
The trading internship will take place over nine weeks in our New York office, beginning in early June through early August. During the program, you will have the opportunity to explore your interest in trading, while being fully immersed in the excitement on our Trading floor. As an intern, you will get a 360-degree view of Flow Traders’ role in the financial markets, how our Traders seize arbitrage opportunities, and how they work together as a team to optimize and improve their desk. Together with your intern class, you will solve problems and work on trading projects with our Traders and Quantitative Researchers.
Previous experience is not required. We are looking for individuals with a passion for trading, who are looking to learn how they can apply their quantitative skills in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

• Learn directly from industry leaders on the New York Trading floor
• Participate in education courses and trading simulations
• Design trading strategies through project-based work using quantitative modeling and trading applications
• Work through real life trading problems with our Traders and Quantitative Researchers
• Gain insight into Flow Traders’ core business
• Participate in intern activities and become a part of our “One Team” culture

What You Need to Succeed

• Candidate for a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or related
• Rising Seniors (Class of 2024), preferred
• Demonstrable interest in trading and global financial markets
• Excellent mental math, quantitative and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Excel and an affinity for scientific programming or development languages
• Ability to think on your feet, reason logically and deliver under pressure
• Innovative and creative with an entrepreneurial and competitive mindset
• Attracted to a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment that offers great challenges and rewards

Students enrolled in a university or college within the United States are welcome to apply to the New York Trading Internship. A similar program is offered in our Amsterdam office for students living in Europe.
