About the role:
The Trading Manager (Victoria) role is focused on driving an uplift in commercial performance within the Melbourne sales team. As the first extension of the JCDecaux Trading function outside Sydney, this role acknowledges the significant commercial potential of the Victorian Out-of-Home market. It aims to improve revenue performance and market share for JCDecaux.
While there are no immediate management responsibilities, this management-level role is positioned to build trading capabilities and resources in Victoria in the future.
A Day in the Life:
Whilst thereβs no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:
- Act as a business partner to Melbourne account groups, maximizing media revenue and market share in Victoria.
- Champion trading activities in Melbourne, coordinating with the national team to ensure effective communication and commercial success across the product portfolio.
- Collaborate with Victorian Sales Directors to enhance product knowledge, sales processes, and commercial outcomes.
- Optimise inventory and revenue by working closely with Group Business Directors and Sales Managers on partnership agreements and pricing strategies.
- Identify and capitalize on tactical opportunities to maximize revenue, particularly in Melbourne and Brisbane markets.
- Provide ongoing training to the sales team on trading platforms (Universe, Salesforce, Fusion), ensuring compliance with pricing and inventory guidelines.
- Mentor and develop middle managers, empowering them with negotiation skills, product knowledge, and market positioning expertise.
- Build and maintain external market relationships with key agency heads, gaining insights into market conditions and opportunities
To be successful:Β
Demonstrated experience gained ideally within media sales, agency trading or implementation or business analytics will stand you in good stead for the role. As well as:
- 5+ years of experience in the media industry.
- In-depth knowledge of media agency trading functions and media owner relationships.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Proven ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations for key stakeholders.
- Confidence in managing high-pressure situations and working with staff across multiple departments.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach
