We have an exciting opportunity for a Trading Manager – Portfolio Optimization. This individual will lead a function dedicated to transitioning client accounts to managed portfolios using tax-efficient optimization tools. This person will be the Central Trading Team’s primary contact for advisors seeking a tax-optimized transition into centrally managed portfolios and serve as the team’s subject matter expert for portfolio optimization tools and processes. This person will be responsible for consulting, implementing, executing and communicating transition plans to advisors using Orion’s Astro product and communicating the pros and cons of using various optimization approaches.
Primary Job Functions
- Supervise and guide a team created to assist Advisor teams transition portfolios into WEG’s Centrally Managed Solutions Orion Advisor Technology's Astro tool.
- Manage daily workflows and allocate project work to ensure timely execution of all team functions while maintaining stellar service levels.
- Demonstrate a mastery of Orion Eclipse and Orion Astro to execute complex trade requests, portfolio revisions, tax efficient transitions and rebalances to maintain model integrity.
- Apply advanced knowledge of the capital markets as well as a deep understanding of WEG’s product offerings and investment philosophy to provide consistently high service levels of trade and system support.
- Effectively communicate with advisors regarding the process and outcome of portfolio optimization. Demystify the optimization engine to facilitate clear conversation with clients.
- Coordinate training needs of new trade team employees
- Conduct routine and annual reviews of assigned trade team members and work with team members to develop individual goals.
- Understands and demonstrates WEG’s core values on a daily basis.
Education/Qualifications
- 4-year degree in business, financial services, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of trading experience, RIA preferred.
- Series 7, 66 licenses preferred.
- Strong leadership and executive communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Orion Eclipse as well as broker dealer and custodian trading platforms preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Orion’s ASTRO or related portfolio optimization engines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative nature.
- Ability to train others, coach, mentor and provide effective feedback.
