Viking Global Investors LP is a global investment firm founded in 1999.  We manage more than $37 billion of capital for our investors across long/short, long-only, and liquid/illiquid strategies.  We have approximately 240 employees and offices in Greenwich, New York, Hong Kong, London, and San Francisco. 

LOCATION: 55 Railroad Ave, Greenwich, CT (Hybrid- 3 days in office, 2 days work from home) 

JOB FUNCTION

The Trading Operations Professional will be responsible for daily work oversight within the trading operations function, supporting the Trade Operations Manager to facilitate trading from post execution through settlement. The position will report to the Trading Operations Manager and work closely with a team of seven, as well as many other departments across the firm such as Trading, Treasury, Accounting and Technology.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify areas for increased efficiency and automation
  • Onboarding new vendors and counterpart relationships
  • Establish work procedure and processes
  • Team management duties
  • Reconciliations of both cash and securities
  • Resolution of fails and breaks
  • Settlement of equities, bonds, and portfolio swaps
  • Liaise with PM’s/analysts on corporate actions and proxy voting
  • Swap Collateral management
  • Support of illiquid investment life cycle
  • Ad-hoc project work

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience (this would include hedge fund operations, investment bank operations or prime brokerage)
  • Experience with global equity, fixed income settlements, derivatives, and corporate actions
  • Strong operational process knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Strong technology skills – can pick up new systems quickly
  • Action-orientation: ability to identify and resolve issues urgently and thoughtfully
  • Results orientation: ability to stay organized and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
