Trading Platform Engineer

The Trading Platform Engineer will join a global team of professionals who build and maintain advanced trading platforms used for retail and institutional trading. From optimizing our proprietary platforms to building robust systems of market connectivity, we leverage software & hardware engineering, data science, and research to deliver the infrastructure and tools that drive our trading and business needs.

This is a critical role in the management and oversight of the real-time production trading environment. The team runs a global operation that monitors and troubleshoots, reliably deploys changes to our production environment, and builds the orchestration, configuration management, and automation for the production trading system. This role requires deep technical and operational knowledge across all areas of the trading platform. The role will proactively monitor and troubleshoot our trading system, deploy changes to our production environment while minimizing operational risk, and implement tools and processes to drive continuous improvement. This team works with traders, operations, market makers, ECNs, and developers to optimize the trading environment and investigate and solve system issues.

What You'll Do:

• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot multiple trading systems and FIX connectivity with market makers (bank, nonbank, ECNs)
• Implement moves/adds/changes to production trading environment
• Build and maintain DevOps toolkit for the production trading system including configuration management, process management, deployment, monitoring, data collection, and analysis
• Collaborate across the technology organization to analyze and troubleshoot complex system problems
• Perform in-depth analysis of system performance
• Work closely with Trading and Risk teams to coordinate changes and manage incidents
• Interact directly with traders to communicate technology changes, manage incidents, and troubleshoot problems
• Manage and assess operational risk of change control into the production environment
• Define and document process and procedure

Skills You’ll Need:

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in an IT ops role, such as DevOps, and/or Network Engineering
• Familiarity with Financial Information Exchange (FIX)
• Knowledge with various asset classes: FX, Indices, Crypto, Commodities, Equities, Options
• Fluency in python and shell scripting
• Familiarity with C++
• A rigorous, detail-oriented approach to operations
• A deep sense of ownership and urgency
• Ability to handle shared operational and periodic on-call duties
• Reliable and predictable availability

Must be willing to work in the office. This is not a work from home position.
