Traffic and ITS Engineer

Job Summary

As a Traffic and ITS Engineer at AECOM, you will, build your analytic and design skills working on a variety of projects. Under the supervision of our experienced engineers, interns conduct engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings. You will be asked to use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems and worth with diverse teams of engineers on projects across the region.

AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineer to be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Morgantown, WV.

This position is expected to begin in January 2023.

The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to:

• Preparing reports, studies and develop plans for various transportation facilities and traffic engineering projects.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Traffic/Transportation/ITS-related internship or work experience.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• MicroStation/AutoCAD experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Applicable course work in Transportation/Traffic Engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
