Arcadis seeks an experienced Staff Traffic Engineer to join the team in Atlanta, GA.

Role description:
You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers across the Southeast to gain a better understanding of the transportation industry, further develop your technical skills, and mentor junior staff.
Arcadis offers global experience in the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) implementations, crafting customized solutions for local transportation needs. Since many of our traffic and transportation engineers have served in state or municipal capacities, we have a deep, localized understanding of regulatory and policy objectives.
Role accountabilities:
- Assist our growing traffic engineering group in Georgia in the preparation of engineering reports, studies and analyses in a wide-range of areas including traffic operations, safety, travel demand modeling and transportation planning projects.
- Utilizes knowledge and experience with conducting and documenting traffic studies using nationally accepted modeling practice.
- Conducts traffic operational analysis using microscopic simulation software such as Vissim, Synchro, Sidra, and SimTraffic.
- Assisting senior engineers in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
- Under leadership of project manager, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present analysis results.
- Assist project managers with the development of fee estimates and the execution/oversight tasks for major projects.
- Providing training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
- EIT with the ability to obtain your PE within one year of hire.
- Must possess a U.S. Driver's License
- Experience working in Synchro to model corridors and isolated intersections.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: GDOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, intersection conceptual drafting, or safety studies.
Key Attributes:
- Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including VISSIM, Sidra, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS
- Experience/ familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads
- Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering
- Experience using Vissim to model freeway corridors.
- Experience using ArcGIS and/or PowerBI to visualize large datasets.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $70800 - $106200.
