As a CPRS at Kyros, you have the freedom of creating your own schedule. Forget the 9 to 5, and work the hours you desire every week. Kyros Care contracts Certified Peer Recovery Specialist’s to make room for personalized professional freedom in the workplace. Additionally, you are paid higher hourly rate if you wish to work 10, 20, or 30+ hours a week. Allowing you to create your own success, while tending to your personal daily life. 

Summary
CPRS aim to help others regain their independence. Through paying forward the tools that were once taught to them in early recovery. This is a position that is rooted in a culture of hope, health, and wellness. The unique relationship between the CPRS and the individual in (or seeking) recovery is grounded in trust, and focuses on providing the tools, resources, and support to achieve long-term recovery. 


Certified Peer Recovery Specialists.

  • Advocate, mentor, and help navigate healthy solutions for personal day to day obstacles.
  • Provide tools that encourage self-sufficiency in daily life such as navigating housing, government-aid, recovery related events, sponsored meetings, resume building, general problem solving, interview prep, employment searching, etc. 
  • Lead by example, share your lived experiences to help navigate the client’s unique path to recovery.
  • Help to identify and work through negative self-talk and ways to overcome fears.
  • Encourage individualized healthy habit building such as self care, and utilizing the resources within the recovery community.
  • Problem solve with patience and compassion.
  • Listen attentively with respect, absence of judgment, and provide productive feedback where appropriate.
  • Help pave a path into long-term recovery.
  • Strictly maintain patient confidentiality at all times.


How do I become certified?
Typically, CPRS training course can cost anywhere from $600-$1200. However, we chose to remove the monetary barrier for those who wish to make a difference; If you wish to become certified, we offer free one-week (5 day/46 hour) training courses (both virtual and in-office) through Refocus Recovery. You then take an exam to be certified through the Minnesota Board of Certification (MCB).


The only fee associated with your certification is $150, this fee goes directly to MCB for your test. If you plan to work with us, and need assistance covering the fee, we can provide you with resources.


Requirements

  • A potential CPRS must have at least one year or more of continuous recovery experience prior to applying for the training. *(If you are not an individual that has personally battled with addiction, but have been touched by someone with substance use disorder, we welcome you to become certified).
  • Weekly, provided supervision with a dedicated support team of CPRS.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license
  • 1099 Employee- Because you create your own schedule, you are paid every week, based on the total amount of hours you worked the previous week. We provide resources to help you navigate your taxes, and tax write off’s that you would not receive with a W2 (cell phone bill, WiFi bill, mileage or car payment + car insurance, clothing purchased for work, etc.).


HIPAA
Refocus Recovery makes reasonable efforts to limit access to and use of protected health information (PHI) by employees to the minimum necessary performance of assigned duties as outlined in job descriptions. HIPAA compliant EHR and telehealth platforms are enabled.
