Job Description
Horace Mann is hiring a Trainor I, this individual will be responsible for presenting instructor-led training, virtual training, webinars, blended and guided learning sessions. While coordinating and facilitating new hire training and onboarding activities and working closely with front-line leaders to ensure smooth transition of new hires to productive roles.
Job Essential Duties:
- Document observations and progress of new hires through training; provide coaching and feedback along with progress reports for front-line leaders.
- Maintain training resources along with updating ongoing knowledge management resources to account for process changes, state laws/statute changes and compliance requirements.
- Deliver courses for ongoing development including refresher trainings and trainings for complex topics.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effectiveness in all phases of employee learning and development.
- Seamlessly weaves elements of Distinctive Service into training, connecting learning concepts to customer experience and the mission of serving educators.
- Conduct new employee and ongoing training with subject-matter expertise in multiple functional areas.
- Demonstrate an understanding of adult learning methodologies and incorporates best practices when conducting training.
- Gather feedback and data to improve training curriculum and processes.
- Proactively identifies training needs to improve the overall performance of the organization.
- Partner with leaders and other departments to ensure training content is correct and relevant.
Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED required
- May work irregular hours, some travel may be required
- External Candidates: 1 year of corporate training required
- Internal Candidates: 1 year with HM and in good standings required.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently to meet short and long term goals.
- Ability to be flexible and support peers in above tasks when needed.
