Job Summary: (This is not a “people manager” role.)

The Training and Development Manager will focus primarily on curating content for external customers as well as internal customer facing teams related to SambaSafety products and best practices. This person will be responsible for gathering and analyzing information to determine learning needs as well as implement highly effective training programs and materials. This role will work in the Training and Knowledge team and will support product and feature/functionality releases as well as work with Operations teams to create and facilitate customer facing training.

Responsibilities:

This role requires someone with a combination of strong public speaking skills, organization, and communication skills, who also has strategic experience designing effective training programs alongside product, marketing, operations, sales, and support teams in software, product, service, or development organizations. The right candidate will bring leadership, experience and insight, an incredibly positive attitude, and a good sense of humor. Combined, these attributes will drive the right candidate to excel in the following initiatives: 

  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with customer facing employees, and/or consultations with managers
  • Facilitates learning solutions geared towards our customers, preparing plans according to adult learning theory and providing a high-impact, interactive environment
  • Develops and implements learning curriculum that is consistent with current trends and best practices; utilizes internal and external resources as necessary to achieve goals
  • Collaborates with training team to assess, design, develop, and maintain training solutions and components using a variety of instructional techniques
  • Creates external articles, online learning modules, and course materials
  • Tracks and analyzes learning curriculum effectiveness through various evaluation techniques
  • Provides reporting to training management
  • Communicates effectively and proactively with subject matter experts, business partners, and customers
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing development, researching training industry standards and best practices and embracing new technologies
  • Designs and/or delivers additional content, as assigned, to support any training needs identified for the business

 What you’ll need:

  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in training & development or a related field
  • Knowledge of customer training and development required
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory preferred
  • Experience with learning management systems preferred
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills as well as strong planning and execution skills
  • Proactive, highly organized, able to drive project progress through effective issues management and communication
  • Ability to function strategically as well as tactically to successfully manage projects
  • Professional presentation and consulting skills
  • Strong influencing and change management skills
  • Ability to identify and execute process improvements
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills
