Summary

About the Position: Coordinates in the planning, managing, and conducting of an equine training programwith the 3rd United States Infantry Regiment.

This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 3 years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes 1) equine and horse training techniques and instruction, including methods for working with hitch teams and training young riders; 2) develop training materials for horse training, maneuvers, and proficiency programs; 3) instruct on various horse training tasks (including bridling, conditioning, response training, ground control, lateral movement, communication, leg aids, horse psychology, postillion riding, harness driving, and ceremonial riding).
