Summary

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating classroom-based and technology-based emergency management adult training and education for Federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector officials. In this position you will work as a member of the DHS, FEMA, Resilience, National Preparedness Directorate, and Emergency Management Institute.

Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  • Providing administrative support to a training program;
  • Working in the occupation or subject-matter in emergency management principles training or instructing others on a regular basis; and
  • Experience working with team members to support the development, delivery, and revision of training materials.
-OR- master's or equivalent graduate degree; -OR- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; -OR- LL.B. or J.D., if related; -OR- Combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:

  • Reviewing instructional objectives, plans of instruction, instructor guides, student manuals, or other training-related materials;
  • Providing technical guidance on the delivery of training programs; and
  • Working in the occupation or subject-matter in emergency management principles training or instructing others on a regular basis.

-OR- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; -OR- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; -OR- LL.M., if related; -OR- Combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
