Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Transactions Analyst shall assist the senior leadership team of Centennial Yards Company, an affiliate business of CIM Group, in the analytical evaluation of various strategic initiatives in support of project goals. The role shall work directly with the Vice President of Transaction Strategy and related team members primarily in support of data tracking, market analysis, and evaluation of transaction scenarios. Additional scope shall include data-driven research, process management, and administrative functions. Candidates should have strong technical skills in Microsoft excel and innate problem-solving capabilities. The Real Estate Analyst will aid the leadership team in executing the core mission of Centennial Yards, a dynamic 50-acre mixed use development located in Downtown Atlanta. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-started seeking to be a key member of one of the most ambitious urban revitalization projects in the country.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assisting leadership team in data collection, organization, and analysis to better inform key decisions
- Working alongside both internal and external colleagues to gather, assemble, and analyze specific project information, data, reports, etc
- Benchmarking current market trends to assist in overall project strategy
- Analysis and support related to the full range of transactions that Centennial Yards Company may enter such as leases, build-to-suits, ground leases, sales, partnerships, and joint ventures
- Support core investment teams in data collection, organization, and analysis related to various project revenue streams
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- 0 - 4 years in commercial real estate preferably with heavy emphasis on market analysis and financial modeling
- Preferably exposure to general brokage or transactional activities in commercial real estate
- BA or greater in real estate, finance, or related field
- General understanding of real estate dynamics with emphasis on the Atlanta market
- Experience in transaction process management and documentation of real estate transactions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Innate problem-solving capability and solution-oriented mentality
- Strong Microsoft excel capabilities and ability to construct financial models
- General understanding to the commercial real estate markets across various asset classes with preference on exposure to the Atlanta market
- Self-motivated and independent professional capable of collaborating with other professionals
- Organized critical thinker capable of dissecting information from various sources into comprehensive analysis
- Strong grasp of financial markets concepts that would be important to Centennial Yards Company, anchor tenants and vertical developers such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Return on Cost, and Discounted Cash Flow
- Passion for learning and seeks to offer recommendations and solutions to challenges
