THE ROLE
Project manager needed to develop and manage a new company initiative. This initiative may include managing sponsorships; collaborations with external vendors; liaising with external vendors to provide services in a timely manner transforming key programs in the auction calendar. The result will be the transformation of a key program in the auction calendar. The anticipated duration will be approximately one year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Ensure that the project is delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
- Manage communication with third parties including vendors and client representatives, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and summarize progress of project
- Maintain multiple timelines for non-sale and sale-related initiatives such as brand partnerships, collaborations with vendors, etc.
- Develop and manage budgets and costs for programing including budgeting for marketing, rental fees, vendor approval, etc.
- Develop proposals presenting the project to external vendors; work with project team on proposal-related tasks including strategy, content, text, imagery, comps and research
- In partnership with specialist departments, develop and implement out-of-the-box experiences for clients
- Initiate and run regular and effective meetings with internal departments, such as Executive, Specialist, Marketing, Partnerships, Press and Operations
- Periodically assess project performance and report to project team and management
- Prepare reports regarding status of project
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Project Management experience in the arts or exhibition / retail space
- 6+ years of relevant experience needed
- Highly developed networking and relationship management skills
- Strong track record in building and servicing high level vendor relationships, and a sensitive approach to problem solving
- The ability to work effectively individually and in a team and to ‘pitch in’ when required
- Ability to work well under pressure, and have a flexible approach to a wide range of tasks
- Good organisational skills with a proven ability to work to deadlines
- Computer literate (excellent knowledge of Google Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess high levels of integrity and be able to operate within corporate governance and legal framework
The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $55/hour - $65/hour. Employees in this role may be expected to work overtime, and will receive additional pay at the applicable overtime rate. In addition to hourly wages and overtime, successful candidates will be eligible for benefits as required by law.
