Transition Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking for a TS/SCI Cleared Transition Engineer to support a critical mission in a large software development project.  The program operates on multiple hardware platforms and combines COTS software with a custom-built application to meet critical mission objectives. The program is structured utilizing DevOps and Agile principles. These software development methods emphasize communication, collaboration (information sharing and web service usage), integration, automation, and measurement of cooperation between software developers and other IT professionals. Operational stability is the program’s number one priority.

The LEAD TRANSITION ENGINEER (TE) position acts as the program's focal point for the leading the definition and execution of all GIMS transitions (releases / maintenance) as well as coordinating participation in major Enterprise events such (effectivity transitions, site power outages, and critical enterprise remediation activities).

Responsibilities include:

• Developing the Transition Activity Plan (TAP), providing inputs to the Enterprise TAP (ETAP) and coordinating all technical resources for the event
• Representing the program at numerous ETAP reviews, normally held before any rehearsal event
• Leading the execution of GIMS steps at the multitude of ETAP rehearsals and for the operational event
• Leading support organizations in required database upgrades
• Documenting detailed transition steps with support from all technical organizations
• Generating status presentations and releases (functional/maintenance) go through numerous practice events
• Capturing and ensuring all actions are closed related to transition event rehearsals

The ideal candidate would have both system engineering (especially IT) and projecting engineering skills. The candidate ideally would have Intel Community (IC) domain experience, an engineering background, be system-oriented and have a flair for working within a large-scale, sophisticated service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment in a collaborative teaming environment. The position requires the ability to lead and communicate with administrators, analysts, engineers, and program leadership at all technical expertise levels. 

Applicants should be self-motivated, fast-paced, curious problem solvers with a BS in Engineering or related field, plus the following skills/experience:

Required:

• Proven project engineering skills
• Working knowledge of IT systems (e.g., databases, hardware, networks)
• Experience with AWS and other cloud environments
• Experience on large scale software development programs
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong project leadership skills

Preferred:

• Domain expertise with IC community and/or systems that interact with GIMS
• In depth experience with relational database systems
• Experience working with NGA customer and mission partners 
• SAFe Agile Methodology
