Transition Sourcing Manager
Job Description
The Transition Sourcing Manager is a key role within the Global Supply Chain organization, with primary responsibility for leading sourcing transition from New Product Introduction into Volume Manufacturing. The Transition Sourcing Manager leads a team of Transition Materials Project Managers and Project Sourcing Managers who engage with a global base of Suppliers, and internal stakeholders, to drive successful transition of New Products into Volume Production, Product Capacity, Inventory Strategies, Engineering Change management, and part Lead-times.
Position Details
Key responsibilities of the Transition Sourcing Manager include:
- Coaching and Development of a team of Materials Project Managers to ensure that everyone's efforts are aligned with the Supply Chain Organization's objectives.
- Collaborate with cross functional team of Pilot Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, to ensure successful transition of New Products into Volume Manufacturing.
- Identify and execute strategies for Material Cost Reduction, including dual-sourcing/re-sourcing, regional Plan-of-Record alignment, and Design for Cost Reduction (DCR) ideation.
- Develop strategies for Material Lead-Time reduction in order to improve customer responsiveness.
- Lead insourcing (Make) vs. outsourcing (Buy) analysis and implementation.
- Manage Engineering Change Order (ECO) execution, with a focus on supply continuity and inventory optimization.
- Supplier engagement, with emphasis on developing impactful relationships that result in differentiated support.
- Identify opportunities to develop and improve our Supply Chain Business Processes.
Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.
