As part of the SimpliSafe Global Logistics Team, the Transportation Analyst will partner with internal and external stakeholders to lead outbound transportation to the customer. You will work in a dynamic environment, interfacing regularly with the sales team, procurement team, internal cross-functional teams and external suppliers, to support an efficient, strategically focused, Global Logistics organization. 

The Transportation Analyst will manage all day-to-day domestic transportation activity via over the road (LTL/FTL/Rail) and parcel. This includes cost control, annual negotiations, delivering tight deadlines and servicing internal and external customers. The analyst will also be responsible for the implementation and future management of a freight payment provider. 

• Work with carriers on a day-to-day basis to ensure SimpliSafe products are moving efficiently and on time. Quote rates and procure capacity for special projects and urgent requests. Approve spot rates and air freight as necessary.
• Lead, negotiate and execute sourcing events in collaboration with Simplisafe procurement for outbound transportation providers on a defined cadence. Ensure optimal balance between capacity, service requirements and costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers and serve as the primary point of contact. Recognize wins and hold partners accountable when performance does not meet expectations. Manage the customer onsite install agency and parcel visibility vendors.
• Lead hazardous material shipping program ensuring SimpliSafe product remains compliant with all transportation regulations. 
• Meet regularly with providers to discuss forecasts and capacity information to improve planning. Ensure adequate equipment/coverage is available to support business needs and growth. Lead weekly touch bases and monthly/ quarterly business reviews with all key vendors.
• Monitor payment of freight invoices and ensure accurate GL coding and rates. Monitor accessorial charges and aim to mitigate when possible. Lead the project and execution of a freight pay vendor. 
• Identify & implement areas for productivity improvements both internally and with external partners. 
• Develop standardized operating procedures across all facilities to ensure consistency of performance.
• Research industry performance, standards, and benchmarks to analyze performance and resolve operational issues. Develop and distribute KPIs and reporting to monitor cost and service levels. 

• A relevant bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of logistics experience with solid business acumen and knowledge of consumer products. Direct experience with over the road and/or parcel shipping is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of transportation rate structures and pricing dynamics. Experience with freight payment. 
• Strong knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations and procedures preferred: DOT/ IATA/IMDG.

• Technology savvy in general, proficiency with MSOffice and Google Workspace (Excel skills are a must), experience utilizing ERP systems like NetSuite. Tableau experience is a plus. 
• Ability to utilize multiple data sources to deliver accurate, reasonable & reliable reporting and insights.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for interacting at all levels within the organization. A team player with a “can-do” and determined attitude.
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently in a proactive and anticipatory manner. Ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes with numerous interdependencies.

• Located in Boston, MA. Travel Required: up to 20%
