Our Ways of Working
We’re a remote-first company with team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees so people can get the work done in the way that suits them best. With rare exception, our employees generally work 9-5 in their home time zone.Â
We also know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build community and collaboration, we gather in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.
What the Role Is
As the Transportation Manager, you will transform how we approach operating our transportation network. You will utilize your understanding of transportation logistics to take us to the next level. Together, we can transform transportation logistics and make it a critical advantage – not a cost item to be reduced.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Stay up-to-date with changes to carrier rates, surcharges, and zones for all supported carriers, and possess expert knowledge in all modes of transportation to effectively communicate these changes to internal stakeholders
- Liaise with carriers on behalf of the company to remain informed of new programs and offerings, as well as changes to existing programs
- Evaluate offerings from various carriers, and document which carriers and shipping methods are optimal for different use cases
- Collect data to report on logistics metrics such as on-time shipping and potential customer rate improvements
- Conduct market research, including pricing analysis, to perform predictive analytics for sea Freight, Land Freight, and Parcel
- Manage and/or participate in projects, analysis, and special research initiatives related to both existing and new products

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.Â
A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Exact starting pay will be determined based on skills and experience as well as location. We hold two compensation reviews annually to review pay for performance and market and run an equity analysis to ensure our pay practices are fair and unbiased.
A reasonable estimate for the current range in each zone is:
- Zone 1: $102,000 - $148,000
- Zone 2: $93,000 - $135,000
- Zone 3: $87,000 - $126,000
These ranges may be modified in the future.
