Job Title: Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical
Facility: Deaconess Gateway Hospital
Specialty: Medical-Surgical
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Dates: 3/10 or 3/24
Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset.

Must have current active compact license
Minimum Experience: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule
Every other holiday

Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram. General medical and psych.
Skillset: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, initiate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
