- Job Details
- Float Pool position at Weirton Medical Center in West Virginia.
- Expected to float to multiple units of varying acuity levels, including ED and CCU if within skillset.
- Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Diverticulitis.
- Must have 5 years of experience, preferably with 1 year of ICU or ED experience.
- Job Requirements
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required if working in CCU or ED.
- Must be comfortable managing critical drips in ED and CCU.
- Schedule Information
- Self-scheduling with 3 12-hour shifts per week.
- Every other weekend required.
- May be asked to participate in holiday rotation.
- Schedule made out for 4 weeks at a time.
- Unit Specific Information
- Patient ratios vary depending on the unit: CCU- 1:2-3, IMC- 1:4-6, MS Level 7- 1:5-6, MS Level 8- 1:5-8, Skilled Care- 1:8-10, ED- TBD.
- Additional Details
- Charge nurse may take an assignment as needed.
- Nurses expected to read and interpret telemetry strips.
- 1 day of orientation and 1 day with a preceptor before working independently.
