- Stepdown nursing position at Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center
- 12 beds in the unit
- Patient types include Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Stroke, DKA, s/p heart cath, s/p aortogram/arteriogram
- Patient ratio is RN: 1:3
- Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff
- 2 years of experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Job Requirements
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS preferred
- Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
- Skills in CVL management/placement, foley cath management, tube feedings, arterial lines, diabetes management, and drip titration preferred
- Schedule Information
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- Mandatory 4 days one week and 3 days the next week
- Possible rotations: 3/2 or 5/2
- Time off requests: Up to 7 days, must extend contract for any full week of RTO
- Only one weekend of RTO per 13-week contract
- Will work 2/3 major holidays
- No call required
- Unit Specific Information
- Floating to stroke unit and Medsurg (1:5-6) may occur
- Orientation includes 2 days hospital and 1 12-hour shift on the unit
- Charting system: Meditech Expanse
- IV pumps: Alaris
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- Additional Details
- Scrub color: Pewter
- Free parking in designated areas
- Professionalism is mandatory: no cell phone usage in patient care areas, no earbuds, no eating at desk
