Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,688 per week

Job Description

General Information: Beds: 12
Years of Experience: 2 years
Will Accept a First-time traveler: Yes
Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
Patient Types: Including but not limited to: Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Stroke, DKA, s/p heart cath, s/p aortogram/arteriogram
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:3
Skills required: Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)
Support on the Unit: Charge nurse will take patient assignment, Phlebotomy: none on the unit, IV/VAT Team: PICC/midline placement, Resource Nurse: yes, staffing dependent, RT: 24/7, Hospitalist available, 24/7, OT, PT, ST
Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Meditech Expanse, IV Pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis
Floating: Units: Stroke unit, Medsurg (1:5-6) – could float frequently
Orientation: 2 days hospital and 1 12-hour shift on the unit

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred)
Skills required: CVL (management/placement), foley cath management, tube feedings via NGT or PEG, Arterial lines, Diabetes management, Drip titration – Levophed (preferred), Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin

Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory
May work 3/2 or 5/2 rotations, for example: 2 on 2 off, 5 on, 5 off
Can we approve time off? Up to 7 days – must extend contract for any full week of RTO
May only request (1) weekend of RTO per 13-week contract
Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
Holiday Expectations: Will work 2/3 major holidays
Black out dates: Halloween 2024; Black Friday 2024

Professionalism is a mandatory requirement – no cell phone usage in patient care areas, earbuds cannot be worn, no eating at desk
