- PCU RN position in Council Bluffs, Iowa
- Stepdown RN department
- Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges
- Common diagnoses include heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:04
- RNs required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
- RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
- Job Requirements
- Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
- Must have relevant state licensure
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Schedule Information
- Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
- Cyclic scheduling
- Weekend requirements: Every third weekend
- Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- Floating to ICU if appropriate and experienced
- Unit Specific Information
- Attributes for success include positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-oriented care
- Additional Details
- Prescreen and auto offer process
- 1-12 hour shift of unit/department specific orientation
- RTO needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
