CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:A.R.D.M.S certification and New Mexico State license in Ultrasound required.

Registration in abdomen and OB/GYN  Show Contact Details  certification required.

BLS/ACLS certification required via AHA.

SHIFT- Tuesday through Thursday 9:00-19:30 and Fridays 0700-1730.

ON CALL REQUIREMENT-2 days of call per week.

DEPARTMENT: Ultrasound/Radiology

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs ultrasound procedures as requested by physicians with the utmost quality. Able to identify advance anatomy and assist doctors with invasive procedures. Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Work side by side with Radiologists as well as other Doctors and Surgeons; and is able to anticipate what the Radiologist may need for each procedure. Understands that the Operating Room takes precedence when a patient is sedated and on the OR table. Must have the ability to take call and respond to work to help our critical patients during off hours.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from accredited ultrasound program required.

SKILLS:Thorough knowledge of sonographic procedures, equipment, and anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. As well as knowledge of advance procedures such as biopsy and thoracenteses.

EXPERIENCE:Minimum 1-year ultrasound experience preferred.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

-Responsible to:Radiology Manager and lead Ultrasound Technologist

ENVIRONMENT:

- Bloodborne pathogen C

Exposure to various body fluids.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Lifts, transfers and positions patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
