Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, the Treasury Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of operational tasks, notably reconciling cash accounts, preparing accruals for investment and funding accounts, preparing journal entries, updating interest rates, and supporting investment pledging activities. This individual will have the opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of Treasury including cash and liquidity management, interest rate risk, and investments.
Functions
- Prepare daily and monthly account reconciliations for borrowings, broker deposits, cash accounts, and investment activity
- Prepare journal entries for Treasury transactions related to cash accounts, investments, and borrowing activity
- Support investment activity including settlements and pledging
- Prepare and set interest rates for bank lending and investment activities
- Provide accounting and reporting back-up duties for key daily and monthly deliverables
- Work with other functional groups in the Bank to complete projects
- Complete ad hoc projects for senior and executive management
- Maintain policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over Treasury activities
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience required
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience demonstrating accounting, analytical and mathematical skills and knowledge of economic/financial concepts, policies, and practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy, multi-tasking and ability to prioritize, organize, effectively manage time and work independently with little direction and oversight to meet deadlines
- Ability to interact, and build relationships across all functions within an organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Experience with PowerBI and Axiom a plus (or similar reporting tools)
- Previous experience in a bank corporate Treasury or Accounting role a plus
