Job Description
Responsible for the execution, tracking and reporting of the Company's borrowing and FX transactions as well as letters of credit. Completes monthly and quarterly reporting of transactions to management. The position is accountable for streamlining day-to-day transactional processes while cost effectively meeting the cash and debt management needs of the company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Accurately forecast the debt needs of the company daily to minimize interest expense and maintain liquidity.
- Prepare journal entries for specific debt-related transactions to be posted to the ledger.
- Track and report all intercompany loans so appropriate accounting entries can be made.
- Report debt balances and interest expense as well as other information required by management.
- Execute FX transactions efficiently and accurately daily as well as complete all associated reporting.
- Facilitate letters of credit by working with commercial teams and banks as needed.
- Manage bank account documentation.
- Serve as primary backup for the Cash Desk role including execution, administration and forecasting of electronic funds transfers, establishing and maintaining target bank balances, investigating exception items and distributing daily operating reports.
- Maintain Viterra's compliance with cash management policies especially related to wire signing authority and fraud prevention.
- Ensure controls are followed as outlined in the Global Cash and Debt Management Policy document.
- Administer users and ensure proper access is granted on banking websites.
- Support cash management project implementations as needed.
- Work with other employees and departments as needed to address Treasury-related issues or questions.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and compile reports for management as needed.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting preferred
- 1-3 years of professional experience required with knowledge of banking industry preferred
- Strong integrity and great attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Ability to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions and see them to completion with limited supervision
- Ability to manage specific deadlines
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships and interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels within the organization
- Strong interpersonal skills, well-developed written and verbal skills, and an engaging personality
- Ability to maintain confidential information and strict adherence to specific guidelines
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Possess excellent communication skills
Special Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
- Position requires operation of a computer and other standard office equipment, such as a printer and phone up to 90% of the time
- Frequently communicates with employees in the office and at remote locations
- Indoor work environment
