This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office an average of two to three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.
Job Summary:
Working closely with the firms' senior executives and business leaders optimizing the firm's liquidity and capital to support business needs and ensure that the firms operate within the Board mandated Risk Appetite. This individual will be the Treasurer of MUFG's US and Canadian broker dealers and have management and oversight of the Treasury team. They must lead by example and support the culture, diversity, and values of the company. They must comply with and ensure that all staff under their responsibility comply with, the Company's policies and procedures, as well as all rules, laws and regulatory requirements emanating from any of the regulatory authorities to which the Firm is subject.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the firm has adequate liquidity and capital to support business needs and manage liquidity and capital risk to ensure that the legal entity survives the Board mandated Risk Appetite.
- Remain cost conscious about funding structure and reduce the drag of holding buffer assets in line with the Investment Guideline.
- Implement and oversee the FX hedging of the balance sheet.
- Implement Liquidity Policy and uphold the principles of the Global Treasury.
- Work closely with Global colleagues and US counterparts to ensure that MUSA is aligned with broker dealer practices and aligned with US regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate ALCO meeting and documents.
- Adhere to all EPS requirements including Intraday monitoring, collateral management, cash flow forecasting, stress testing, and compliance with ALM guidelines.
Management Expectations:
- Establishing and developing the Treasury team and its participation in the Firm's Business strategy including setting objectives and business plans and managing costs;
- Leading, directing, controlling and managing the staff to ensure that they (i) understand their responsibilities and duties applicable to their roles, (ii) comply with the Firm's policies and procedures and (iii) conduct themselves in a way which is commensurate with the Firm's values;
- Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control / infrastructure teams globally;
- Planning and preparing the department's annual budget, documenting budget expenditures and monitoring expenditure ensuring that cost controls are always in place;
- With regard to your International responsibilities (where applicable), overseeing and being accountable for the International Business, including supporting the strategy determined by the International Business Head of MUSHD, including the activity, and building of, a best-in-class International Business;
- Maintaining required control procedures, including the management of operational risks.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA or MS/MBA in Accounting required; Chartered Accountant or CPA desired.
- 15+ years of progressive related job experience in large, complex banking or financial institutions.
- Extensive knowledge of treasury, asset liability management, funding, liquidity and capital management
The typical base pay range for this role is between 195k - 225k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
