JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

The Payments Advisor (PA) is primarily responsible for the sales and service function of treasury management. Position requires thorough knowledge of all bank treasury management and merchant card products and technical aspects of electronic delivery of these products as well as the ability to sell this service and support them through a commitment to outstanding customer service. The PA will administer customer contracts and implement Treasury management services. PA will have direct access to Treasury management customers both in the sales and support role. PA will work independently and will comply with all bank policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

  • Sale of Treasury management products and services to existing bank clients.
  • Generation of new lead opportunities through data mining, referral sources or organic sources.
  • Generation of new lead opportunities to other areas of the bank (personal relationships as well as commercial bankers, insurance services and wealth management).
  • Support of Treasury management products and services to existing bank clients, including but not limited to, new account set up, contracts, terminal selection/downloads and account maintenance.
  • Work closely with retail staff as well as commercial lenders to identify sales opportunities.
  • Administer customer contracts and agreements and ensure the accuracy thereof.
  • Analyze customer accounts and understand the Treasury management products and services.
  • Work with and have a thorough understanding of bank products and services which include, but are not limited to:
    1. Merchant card services
    2. IB+ (contract, set up and account maintenance)
    3. RDC (contract, set up and account maintenance)
    4. Account Analysis and other business fees
    5. Sweep/ICS
    6. Corporate Credit Cards (application and account maintenance)
    7. ACH (contract, set up and account maintenance)
    8. Wire transfers (contract, set up and account maintenance)
    9. Positive Pay
    10. Check Reconcilement
    11. RAM statements
  • Support customers and troubleshoot, when necessary, in all Treasury management related products and services.
  • Comply with all bank policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Utilize the Bank's CRM system to manage the Treasury pipeline, including the timely disposition of sales efforts, the entering of revenue generated from each sales effort, and the close/award dates. The PA should ensure that all referrals sent through the CRM are assigned within 24 hours and direct contact made with the referring banker advising of such assignment. When sales efforts are onboarded in their entirety, the PA or a team member supervised by the PA should close the communication loop by letting them know of the completion of the task and the revenue generated if a sale was made.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Community Bank has adopted a 40-hour work week. Some flexibility in hours is necessary based on the location assignments, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and must work at least 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel:

Travel for this position is limited to travel for meetings/training or meeting with clients.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Generally, less than five years of banking or related experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Strong clerical skills, good communication skills and professional appearance are necessary for this position. Proficiency with a computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment are required. The ability to learn EzTeller, Premier and sales tracking systems.
