Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Treasury Operations Manager, the Treasury Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate settlement of all treasury transactions, including foreign exchange deals, money market trades, and derivative contracts.

This role plays a crucial part in the efficient functioning of the treasury operations by liaising with internal and external stakeholders to confirm trades, monitor settlements, and resolve any discrepancies. 

Settlement Processing:

• Execute the settlement of treasury transactions in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
• Coordinate with counterparties, custodians, and internal departments to facilitate smooth settlement processes.

Risk Management:

• Implement controls to mitigate operational risks related to settlement processes.
• Perform daily reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of settlements in treasury systems.
• Report and escalate issues impacting settlement timelines or accuracy.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to settlements.
• Ensure timely confirmation of all market deals
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies governing treasury transactions.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline settlement processes and enhance efficiency.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate reports and analyse settlement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in treasury operations within a Corporate or Bank
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and settlement platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
