Here's what you'll do day-to-day:
- Implement day to day risk management strategies for the company and assist with the reconciliation and accounting for funds related to payrolls including tax, direct deposits and paychecks.
- Review CreditSafe reports and verify paperwork for new clients as sales are closed.
- Review client credit.
- Set initial credit limits for new clients at the time of their initial processing.
- Periodically analyze credit limits for existing clients.
- Investigate and follow up on any direct deposits not received by client employees through the payroll process including follow up with banks.
- Request Letter of Indemnity from Third Party Processors for any transactions made in error that need to be reversed.
- Request trace numbers from Third Party Processors as requested.
- Assist Customer Service in reversing funds from employees that were overpaid.
- Reconcile various bank accounts daily including the tax account.
- Assist customer service to determine if Netpay checks have cleared and stop payment or reissue as necessary.
- Assist with the collection of NSF funds from clients.
- Approve Positive Pay exceptions on various accounts
- Approve Tax payments based on client credit.
- Monitor volume across ACH banks and rebalance as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Here's what we're looking for:
- College degree from an accredited college, Business or Accounting preferred; equivalent combination of education and/or experience with be considered
- 0-2 years of experience
- Experience in payroll, accounting or finance is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Independent problem-solving capabilities
- Investigative and audit mindset
- Professional communication skills (Phone and email)
- Ability to work quickly - both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate clearly to clients concerning financial transactions
- Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, clients, and vendors
