JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for execution of processes and approval in trim color samples and ensuring color quality is meeting Brand’s standards and requirements.

Responsible for execution of developing new trims and packaging items.

Building sustainable sourcing culture and ensuring workflow/processes in building and implementation.

Building capacity at T2 level in term of Development and Innovation and Technology.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Trim color assurance:

Trim colors (for all markets)

• Approve color lab dips for all trims according to JW color requirements.
• Ensure SMS and bulk color quality matches to JW approved lab dips.
• Maintain PLM database with all lab dip, SMS and bulk approvals.
• Work tightly with Suppliers (vendors and mills), Idstein HQ and cross-functional teams in Ho Chi Minh city and Shanghai office, to ensure JW color quality is met. Support on any trim color related issues
• Suggest solutions to optimize and implement workflow and training document of color assurance.
• Plus, any other requirements as directed by Management.

Fabric colors (support for first 6 months)

• Approve color lab dips for fabrics according to JW color requirements.
• Ensure SMS and bulk color quality matches to JW approved lab dips.
• Maintain PLM database with all lab dip, SMS and bulk approvals.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal teams for fabric color related topics.

Trim and packaging sourcing:

Trim and packaging development (for China market):

• Communicate with China Designers to understand trim needs for new seasons, support to build JW trend brief presentations to share to material suppliers.
• Collect and work with trim mills to get new trend / innovation collections, including prices and sustainable / technical information and prepare presentations to Designers, Garment Developers and Product Managers
• Participate in apparel material fairs across Asia to connect with new and current suppliers to search for new technologies and eco-friendly design / materials.
• Launch and follow up new trim and packaging development processes, including trials, testing, samples and first productions.
• Check and approve trim and packaging quality for China market according to JW quality requirements and GB standard regulations before going to SMS and Bulk production.
• Create and coordinate with related functions to maintain Chinese Market Labeling Restrictions Guideline for each season. Issue the documents and assist suppliers / internal teams to understand and follow the guideline.
• Plus, any other requirements as directed by management.

Coordinate with Idstein HQ trim team (for Global market):

• Support to maintain PLM database for development and production approvals.
• Prepare information for trim risk assessment communication meetings with all cross-functional teams before first production.
• Support trim costing, price negotiations and system data maintenance for trim and packaging prices.
• Manage supplier performance information (on delivery, development and quality control…) for trim and packaging supplier yearly evaluations.
• Plus, any other requirements as directed by Management.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Possesses deep functional knowledge.
• Strong trim technical knowledge.
• China GB Standards knowledge is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication skill (Influencing) - Ensure effective internal and external communications, drives consensus among stakeholders.
• Fluent in English. Chinese speaking and reading skill is a plus.
• Result oriented. Measures and formulates timely improvement actions, adopt creative ideas to create better outcomes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 8 years of experience in textile / packaging industry, at least 3 years of experience working directly in trim and packaging positions.
• Degree in textile engineering, production management or related majors.
