As a UAT (User Acceptance Testing) Tester Specialist at Zayo, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software solutions before they are deployed to our valued customers. Our UAT Test Specialist's meticulous attention to detail, comprehensive testing methodologies, and dedication to delivering exceptional user experiences will contribute to the success of our transformative projects.
*We're open to our UAT Tester Specialist working in a remote capacity within the United States; however, our ideal candidate will reside in the Denver Metro, CO area with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity.
Responsibilities
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Execution:
    • Collaborate with UAT Lead, business unit leads, project managers, and development teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.
    • Execute test cases and scenarios based on UAT plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of software functionalities and features.
    • Verify data integrity, system interactions, and alignment with business objectives during the UAT phase.
    • Identify and document defects and issues in a structured manner, including clear steps to reproduce and detailed descriptions.
  • Defect Reporting and Documentation:
    • Work closely with the UAT Lead to accurately report defects using designated tools and platforms (e.g., JIRA, Asana).
    • Provide detailed defect reports to the development team, including necessary information for effective resolution.
    • Collaborate with developers to validate defect fixes and participate in retesting efforts.
  • Risk Management:
    • Proactively identify potential risks to the UAT process and software quality.
    • Collaborate with the UAT Lead and project stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies.
    • Communicate identified risks and potential impact to project timelines or deliverables.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Contribute to the enhancement of testing processes and methodologies, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the UAT Lead and development teams to address root causes of recurring defects and implement preventive measures.
    • Provide insights and suggestions for improving testing workflows and practices.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open communication with the UAT Lead, project managers, and development teams regarding testing progress, results, and potential roadblocks.
    • Participate in regular status meetings to provide updates on UAT activities and discuss any challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
    • Collaborate with the UAT Lead and project teams to implement lessons learned from previous UAT cycles.
    • Actively participate in retrospectives to identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to action items.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years previous experience in software testing, preferably with a focus on User Acceptance Testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to meticulously follow test cases and document defects accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with UAT management tools and platforms (e.g., JIRA, Asana).
  • Exposure to agile methodologies and practices.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to evolving project requirements and priorities.

Base pay range: $64,700 - $86,300, commensurate with experience
