UC Operations Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Unified Communications Operations Engineer to support our global voice and video infrastructure. This will require working closely with members of our UC team in all of our office locations worldwide—along with members of our IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Networking and other internal teams.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting our Asia UC products and services. This includes helping with: expansion projects, meeting room management, live event support and any audio tools that Jane Street employees use to talk to each other during daily work.
Our UC Operations Engineers are experts at multitasking, monitoring alarms generated by our voice and video systems and juggling operations-related tasks, all while serving as an escalation point for users and other technology groups. We also work with different technology groups to develop processes and standards, and improve documentation across our global UC infrastructure.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable collaborating with teams across several areas of expertise at Jane Street, and passionate about staying updated on the latest UC technology and developments across our offices and how they support our colleagues.

About You

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with upgrading and maintaining Cisco UC products, Cisco Jabber and Cisco desk phones
• Experience supporting Crestron control systems in auditorium and multi-purpose spaces, digital signage technologies and Cisco video conferencing solutions
• Committed to providing excellent support during ‘live events’ using collaboration tools like Zoom, Webex and other conferencing solutions
• Able to collect and interpret log files, collaborate with support partners to solve problems and manage expectations with colleagues and users
• Able to execute tasks with good quality insurance and risk controls
• Has an understanding of basic networking and telephony technologies
• Experience with Cisco APIs related to UC products is a plus
• Experience with programming or scripting is a plus (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
• Fluency in English required; ability to speak other Asian languages (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin) is preferred
