UI Artist

Responsibilities:

• Design the layout and create artwork to produce a beautiful yet functional user interface.
• Create artwork to support a variety of user interface experiences including menus, heads-up displays, 3D spatial interactions, and minigames.
• Build artwork for responsive user interfaces capable of handling multiple monitor aspect ratios on PC, meeting technical requirements of console platforms, and enabling localization requirements.
• Understand and support the development of features for unique accessibility needs.
• Work collaboratively with UI programmers and game designers to achieve artistic, design, and technical goals.
• Modify artwork based on artistic, design, or technical feedback.
• Follow/setting best practices for UI design.

Requirements:

• 2+ years building UI experiences in Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• 2+ years working on Agile software development teams or similar.
• Understanding of 2D animation; ability to produce a dynamic, animated user interface.
• Expertise with 2D graphics software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Knowledge of interface design software such as Figma.
• Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine’s Material Editor and creation of 2D material/shaders for UI.
• Strong working knowledge of Unreal Blueprint and UMG UI Designer.
• Able to ideate in an open development environment, where you’ll have creative freedom regularly.
• Logical problem solver with attention to detail.
• Deep knowledge of a wide range of video games as well as an understanding of what makes an excellent user interface.
• Motivated self-starter with exceptional creativity and strong communication skills.
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer graphic arts.

Salary Range: $79,000 - $160,000
