Team Leadership

• Setting the strategic direction for the design team and providing guidance and mentorship to UI designers to ensure that they are delivering high-quality work
• Leading design research efforts to gain insights into user behavior, preferences, and needs and translating these insights into actionable design solutions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure that designs meet project requirements and support business objectives
• Overseeing the creation of design deliverables, including UI components, layouts, interactions, and prototypes, and ensuring that designs are implemented according to specifications and quality standards

Business Development

• Participating in business development activities, including proposal development and client presentations, and maintaining relationships with existing clients
• Contributing to the development of design strategies that drive innovation and competitive differentiation, and that help us expand our offerings and market presence in the federal space.

Creative Execution

• Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques, and contributing to the innovation and experimentation in the design function
• Working with project managers to ensure that design projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients
• Providing thought leadership on UI design trends and best practices, and advocating for the importance of user-centered design in all our design projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least five years of relevant experience.
• Proven success in a lead role, preferably in a federal consulting or government environment, with accountability for a team’s results designing successful UI solutions that are user-centric, effective, and innovative.
• Creative problem solver with a focus on delivering results.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a team of designers to deliver high-quality work, fostering a culture of design excellence.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of HTML/CSS and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
• Strong understanding and application of accessibility standards (Section 508) and federal design guidelines.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze user needs and translate them into design solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Proven ability to be organized and detail-oriented, while managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Adaptable and able to pivot between client-facing and management responsibilities.
• Ability to pass and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
