UI/UX Art Intern

Insomniac Games is seeking a UI/UX Art intern to help our world-class UI/UX department make industry-inspiring player experiences that are approachable, accessible, and immersive for everyone. We are in search of someone with a strong grasp of interactive design fundamentals, a track record of creating graphic design, iconography and/or game UI layout and art, and the desire to take those skills to the next level. As part of our cross-functional team, you'll be mentored by senior artists, designers, and engineers, develop valuable connections within the industry, and create generation defining user experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Contribute wireframes, mockups, motion comps, iconography, prototypes, and in-game implementation of assets for our player- and developer- facing products with a focus on HUD, iconography, interfaces, and menu systems.

Internship Qualifications:

• Candidates must either be full-time students enrolled at a college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in a related field (Graphic Design, Game Art, or Game Development/Design) or possess some combination of 6 to 12 months of applicable industry experience, training, and/or education.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with After Effects, Animate, and/or Maya is a plus.
• Excellent conceptual and visual design skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
• Empathy for our players and willingness to work iteratively toward solutions that maximize their experience.
• An ideal intern is self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn.

Internship Details:

• This is a paid, full-time internship.
• The student must be available to intern 5 days per week for approximately 40 hours a week.
• The duration of internship is flexible, but we expect at least an 8-week commitment from our interns.
• This role is based in Burbank, California, Durham, North Carolina, or remote.
