UI/UX Developer

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a ​UI/UX Developer​ to work for our company. 

Summary:

• Client Agency is ​DHS​ 

• Must be able to pass DHS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).

• Will be responsible for executing customer/user experience (CX/UX) strategies and creating products that engage users.

• Will manage the CX/UX related planning, prioritization and decision making. Will advocate for broader CX/UX activities in support as needed.

• Will lead and participate in sessions that leverage CX/UX design methods and strategies.

• Will translate user needs into concepts, personas, user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes and visual design prototypes using tools such as Figma, Mural, and Optimal Workshop.

• Will conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing and translate those results into designs that will improve products in an iterative fashion.

• Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to articulate the CX vision, tradeoffs, and decisions.

• Will lead efforts to develop and implement design patterns and information architecture that adhere to brand guidelines for web and mobile design.

• Will collaborate with trusted testers to ensure that all front-end design and development work is Section 508 compliant for accessibility.

• Will balance user needs with product owner priorities and technical feasibility.

• Will drive a plain language content strategy to facilitate an easy-to-understand user experience for all users.

Requirements:  

• Must be able to pass DHS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).

• Must have 5+ years of relevant experience. 

• Must have hands-on and theoretical experience with Agile framework or Agile software delivery.

• Hands-on experience with web design.

• Hands-on experience with mobile development design.

• Must be proficient in human centered design, change management, be proficient in the latest CX/UX methods and technology trends.

• Must have hands-on experience with the following languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

• Must have hands-on experience with digital programming tools.

• Must have experience translating user needs into concepts, personas, user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes and visual design prototypes using tools such as Figma, Mural, and Optimal Workshop.

• Must be willing and able to attend on-site meetings in Camp Springs, MD on an as needed basis. 

• Must be willing and able to participate in a code challenge and orals presentation.
