What will I be doing?

Blueprint is looking for a UI/UX Engineer to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions!  This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.

The UI/UX Engineer at Blueprint Technologies plays a critical role in addressing customer challenges through digital experience designs. You will work across multiple disciplines that include visual design, interaction design, and front-end engineering. You will collaborate with all areas of the business to ensure the design and implementation of UX/UI within Blueprint is the ultimate representation of the voice of the Customer. You act as the bridge between product management and product engineering.

The Role:

We are seeking a UX Engineer who is:

  • Rebellious: Recognizes the importance of design patterns for consistency but is not afraid to push boundaries for the sake of an enhanced user experience.
  • Detail-Oriented: Maniacally focused on scrutinizing every aspect of UI/UX design and its implementation, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
  • Technically Proficient: Highly skilled in designing user interfaces, creating interactive prototypes, and translating designs into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Capable of contributing to engineering sprints for design implementation.
  • Collaborative and Communicative: Eager to share prototypes and gather feedback from clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining poise and a team-centric approach in all interactions.
  • Flexible: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, adapting to evolving project requirements with a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of design experience, focusing on desktop and mobile interfaces, with a portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, visual design, and problem-solving.
  • Design and Prototyping Tools: Proficiency in Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, and other design tools.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript. Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Outstanding ability to communicate concepts and designs through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external interactions. Ability to communicate your ideas to engineers, product managers, and leadership through storytelling, visuals, and presentations.
  • Accessibility and Inclusive Design: Knowledge of designing accessible and inclusive interfaces in compliance with WCAG and other standards.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with collaboration and version control tools such as Github, JIRA, and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Flexible: Experience in handling several complex projects simultaneously. Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, technologies, and best practices.

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $120,600 to $150,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
