The FP&A Manager will be a key member of the UK Finance team, reporting to the UK FP&A Director. The role is UK based, in our offices in Richmond, Surrey. UK FP&A Manager

Overview:

The FP&A Manager will be a key member of the UK Finance team, reporting to the UK FP&A Director. The role is UK based, in our offices in Richmond, Surrey.  Core responsibilities include financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and deep financial analysis with a business focus. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, have an enquiring mind, a proactive/self-starter nature, commercial acumen and a desire for discovering insights from consumer and merchant activities. In order to develop actionable insights, the individual will need to collaborate and influence across a wide array of stakeholders (product, risk, sales, operations, finance…).

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of PayPal’s business across different products, segments, and verticals (industries).

  • Drive optimal decision making through insightful models and analytical tools & use of extensive financial and quantitative analysis, including revenue variance analysis.

  • Support the Central Core FP&A team during monthly forecast and annual budget cycles

  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and business reviews

  • Drive actionable insights based on quantitative and qualitative research as well as deep dives into key business, financial, merchant and consumer metrics in order to highlight new opportunities and identify gaps or risks to the business.

  • Partner closely with the Sales teams to build and review business cases, quantify impact of new initiatives and coordinate the monthly sales pipeline forecast.

  • Collaborate with UK Management Team and various business units on key projects and outline strategic and tactical recommendations.

  • Build and deliver executive level presentations to influence decision makers.

  • Support Finance process and system improvements, partnering with global FP&A/Analytics and technology teams, to streamline efficiency.

  • Support the UK FP&A Director in coordinating and producing financial performance deep-dives at UK and Core Markets level.

  • Participate in specific ad-hoc projects by partnering with Regional FP&A team members

Education required:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent with a 2:1 degree (Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related quantitative discipline).

  • CIMA/ACA qualified preferred or equivalent professional experience

Experience required:

  • Experience gained as a Senior Financial Analyst, (Senior) Finance Manager, Senior FP&A Analyst, (Senior) FP&A Manager, ideally in a fast growing, medium/large company environment within the eCommerce or financial services sectors.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving forecast and budget processes in a highly matrixed environment as well as building and challenging financial models.

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills: able to work across organization & geographies, while influencing peers and more senior colleagues.

  • Strong communication skills and experience distilling and presenting complex financial analyses into action-oriented recommendations.

  • Detail-oriented, highly analytical individual who strives for excellence and wants to be part of a great team.

  • Ability to proactively identify and develop insights which would be valuable to support the decision making

  • High energy and a true desire to understand the drivers of the business.

  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional / multicultural environment while juggling multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to effectively manage projects / results oriented.

  • Excellent Excel and Power Point skills. Experience with database products (i.e. Essbase, SQL) and/or CRM tools (Salesforce.com) would be an advantage.

  • Fluent in English. Any other language of the region is more than welcome.
