Unannounced Project Associate Technical UI Designer (New Grad / Early-in-Career)
Job Description
Bungie is seeking an Associate Technical UI Designer to help us build our next great interfaces and player experiences. In this role you will take part in the planning and implementation of UI features in close collaboration with Art, Engineering, and Design to deliver memorable player experiences.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- A recent graduate from a U.S. college, university, or related program within 12 months from October 2022
- Planning to graduate in Fall 2022 through Spring 2023
OR - Moving from primarily learning to primarily working within 12 months
- Transitioning from one craft, function, or discipline to a new one within 12 months
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with fellow designers to creatively solve design problems, considering UX principles and technical limitations
- Contribute directly to our design guidelines and style guides
- Gain proficiency in proprietary software tools and pipeline processes to implement visual designs (including visual elements like text, bitmaps, and animations)
- Collaborate with engineering on toolbox, technical requirements, and data flows
- Utilize graphics software applications to design and produce graphics for UI content
- Aid and support in final design and visual polish of various in-game elements, as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Practical understanding of UX methodology, UI mechanics, and Design theory
- Effective at communication and problem solving
- Ability to solve challenging, complex problems while following established conventions
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Technical ability to pick up complex authoring tools effectively
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Scripting/programming experience
- Experience working in Agile and using a User-Centered Design process
- Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects
- An understanding of graphics optimization and engine constraints
