F&G is hiring for an Unclaimed Property Consultant position.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate management of the entire escheatment cycle and management of the unclaimed property filings with the states. This position will also be responsible for performing certain post issue or claims processes or projects as assigned. This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise and understanding of the F&G annuity, life, and RAA operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the escheatment cycle and ensuring the timely, accurate, and fully compliant filing of due unclaimed property utilizing Tracker (the unclaimed property system).
- Interact with Legal, TPA's, and other business partners to ensure and evidence timely, appropriate, effective, compliant communication.
- Perform the quarterly estimated interest accrual and assess interest on records when disbursed, ensuring accuracy and the highest attention to detail in the process.
- Interact and coordinate with State agencies as appropriate. Immediately share correspondence with appropriate parties as needed (e.g., legal notices)
- Analyze the escheatment process, particularly those components involving TPA's, develop recommendations for automation, lead change and perform project management for improvement initiatives.
- Support the consideration and evaluation of risks associated with the escheatment cycle, recommend and develop control procedures. Support the coordination with Internal Audit and Compliance to develop audit processes and procedures for a quarterly audit process surrounding the escheatment cycle.
- Ensure appropriate procedures and best practices are in place for scenarios that can result in unclaimed property (post issue, claims, and other).
- Process claim benefits as unclaimed funds and/or support the claims process as necessary.
- Ensure that F&G TPA is producing timely, consistently formatted, accurate data; challenge inaccurate items, escalate accordingly.
- Serve as liaison between F&G claims team and various internal departments and external customers (i.e. legal, IT, compliance, reinsurance, audit, IMO, agents).
- Support the reconciliation of the unclaimed property process.
- Provide support to members of the operations team, IT, and external parties, on claims, unclaimed property matters.
- Represent the claims team and operations on operational initiatives; communicate progress, issues, and any action items to leadership; keep claims and unclaimed property team informed of progress.
Experience and Education Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years Claims or Escheatment experience preferred
- Insurance or Financial services experience preferred.

- Sets expectations and promotes conditions that enable team members to deliver high quality work.
- Expected to provide regulatory subject matter expertise in area of focus.
- Office work environment; use of computer for extended periods whilst sitting; the flexibility to travel about 10%.
