We are looking for a service-focused Personal Lines Underwriter to join our team. This role will support the daily underwriting activities for our client, a insurance company specializing in personal residential property coverage. The Underwriter is responsible for working with Agents and the Carrier to review new and renewal policies and endorsements to determine insurability. In addition to production responsibilities, the Underwriter also communications with the Agent directly both in writing and answering incoming calls for support. Primary job responsibilities include:

• Reviewing applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control consultants, and other information to determine if application is acceptable for the available client program(s).
• Evaluating and determining policy cancellation or reinstatement, modification of coverage form or limit within client and company guidelines.
• Receiving and handling calls regarding bind requests, endorsements requests, cancellation, reinstatements, inspections, missing information and quote submission for acceptability and process.

We are looking for a highly-motivated, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with and helping others, to join our team. Other candidate qualifications and skills include:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• 3-5 years of Agency or underwriting experience in residential lines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have knowledge of policy forms, coverage options and carrier rating systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and navigating multiple computer applications and windows at the same time.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service, problem solving and resolution skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task and think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information with a positive roll up your sleeves and let's get it done attitude.
