As a digitally-enabled wholesale brokerage, we want to simplify insurance transactions by efficiently connecting insurance agencies to carriers and building the tools needed by the modern insurance industry - a trillion-dollar market opportunity.
The Role
The Underwriting Assistant will support QuoteWell in providing quality service to agent clients. Daily servicing will include the preparation of quotes/proposals, binding, client follow-ups, endorsement activity, and renewal control. The ideal candidate is someone who is detail-oriented, has a customer-first attitude, and can serve as a team player.
What you’ll do
- Assist with new business submissions
- Review submissions for completeness and accuracy and make requests for information
- Create electronic files by compiling and organizing all underwriting data and information, including internal and external correspondence, application information, policy documents, and other relevant documentation
- Prepare the binder, stamp with state-specific stamping (if applicable), generate the invoice, and package with the binder
- Apply appropriate SOPs to related work while adhering to established internal service level agreements (SLAs)
- Quote and/or issue endorsements, ensuring the accuracy of changes
- Work closely with QuoteWell’s producing team to ensure that all policy management activities (e.g., endorsements, cancellations, and renewals) are handled in a timely and appropriate manner
What you’ll need
- 2+ years of experience in Commercial Property/Casualty Insurance at a retail or wholesale agency
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously and accurately within established guidelines
- Technologically savvy and data-driven
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- A team player with great interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with team members and external stakeholders
- Experience in excess and surplus lines, a plus
- Must obtain a Property, Casualty Agents license within 6 months if not currently licensed
