What You Bring to Parsyl
We are creating a mission-driven team that aims to transform the essential supply chain industry. You will work with our Underwriting and Sales teams to support every aspect of policy submission and administration, as well as supporting general operations as we grow this exciting new insurance business. Strong candidates for this position are excellent communicators both verbally and in writing, extremely organized, process-oriented, and inquisitive. A customer-focused mindset with the ability to multi-task and change priorities is crucial.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Qualification of new insurance prospects, including:
- Communicating effectively with brokers and underwriters to secure the information necessary to accurately process the business
- Supporting and learning from senior leadership and program underwriters
- Learning the insurance sales and underwriting process by:
- Setting up submission packages for underwriting review while executing broker onboarding and compliance checks
- Providing support throughout the underwriting, sales and claims process
- Preparing and coordinating all transactions and internal processing, including binders, invoices, policies, endorsements, cancellations, renewals, non-renewals and reinstatements.
- Compiling final policies to send to brokers for distribution to Insureds
- Working with Parsyl Accounting to facilitate billing and premium collection
- Maintaining accurate and thorough risk data and reporting in our tools
- Analyzing, refining, and iterating on internal processes to make them more efficient and ensure accuracy
- Monthly reporting for internal and external audiences
- Ensuring Parsyl customers have an unexpectedly delightful experience with their insurance partner
- Opportunities for advancement within the Insurance team including graduation to Underwriter roles if desired

What we're looking for:
- Experience demonstrating strict attention to clerical details, transaction procedures, and/or record-keeping requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort with picking up the phone and calling stakeholders to get answers to questions
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Capacity to adapt to change and embrace new processes/procedures
- Ability to quickly learn and problem solve with a passion for reducing operational inefficiencies and pain points
- Curiosity and willingness to dig deep and ask questions to ensure a thorough understanding of complex risks
- Ability to work well with others in a supportive, collaborative team environment
- Commitment to excellent customer service

It's a bonus if you also have:
- A support staff role in an office environment for at least 1 year or a college degree
- The insurance industry (brokerage, MGA, underwriting, compliance) or financial services
- Project management expertise
- Experience in fast-paced start-ups
Benefits
Market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of $50,000 - $65,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
