Essential Job Functions

• Manages work flow for team of underwriters and assigns new loans.
• Manages own pipeline of files to be underwritten, generally complex or escalated loans, 30% to 50% of the time.
• Identifies training opportunities, and works with training to develop and strengthen underwriters on the team.
• Works with Star Support on escalated files to see if any resolution can be reached prior to the file being transferred to Escalation Department.
• Responsible for monthly projections to upper management; helping to ensure that both individual and business goals are met.
• Liaisons with Sales Reps, Managers, and Upper Management.
• Acts as liaison between underwriters and sales/processing.
• Audits new underwriter files to ensure that all company, agency and compliance guidelines are met.
• Ensures Underwriters maintain training at a current status.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major course work in a related discipline or equivalent combination of job experience & education.
• Minimum of 4 years of conforming and government mortgage underwriting experience in a large fulfillment or operations site (non-title/escrow company environment)
• Current experience as it relates to RESPA 2010 changes
• Allowable TIL tolerance knowledge
