Start Date: January - May 2023

What an HEDIS Intern can expect:

• Support the attainment of organization and department business goals to create better work flows and processes
• Provide research, development, and analytical support to meet various Florida Blue departments' business needs, products, and processes
• Expand knowledge of healthcare industry
• Deliver professional presentations to the department
• Engage with HEDIS Clinical Nurses and UF MHA Interns
• Request medical records from HEDIS chase list
• Learn and understand the NCQA CMS required HEDIS season process
• Work under minimal supervision and adapt to a dynamic, challenging environment
• High potential to learn to speak effectively with provider offices and ability to articulate the medical record that is needed
• Excellent phone skills
• Strong desire to learn

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at UNF, as a Senior in the BHS program
• Cumulative 3.0 or better GPA
• Basic PC skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Coursework that demonstrates analytical abilities and interest, as well as critical thinking
• Good time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaboration/relationship building and detail-oriented skills

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
