Position Summary
Position is responsible for supporting the Data Governance Office (DGO) in the delivery of best-in-class methodologies for the design and implementation of the Data Governance Program.
This position is responsible for supporting the Data Governance Program in performing data workflow analysis, and in creating Policies, Procedures, and Standards. This position will develop and maintain supporting data governance documentation, including training materials, meeting agendas, announcements, communications plans, project plans, and meeting minutes. The position will create and maintain status reports, issues lists, and monitor metrics and SLA's.
Job Responsibilities
- Define strategy and operating model to onboard different business units on Data Governance Center Collibra platform while ensuring adherence to MetLife's Data Governance policies and standards.
- Assist in establishing guidelines and protocols for effectively managing the data assets.
- Responsible for conducting training sessions for the business and IT owners on roles and responsibilities under the Governance Policy.
- Document, assess, influence and synthesize business requirements to develop, enable and advance data governance and stewardship capabilities.
- Develop Data Governance Documentation by collaborating with Data Domain Owners and Stewards
- Develop plan and facilitate the migration of Data Governance platform from current state to future state
- Lead projects to onboard new systems into the Data Governance program through aiding system owners in creating searchable, accessible data dictionaries and lineage flows.
- Coordinate the resolution of data governance issues: maintain issues list, follows-up with stakeholders on open 'Action Items'
- Establishes ongoing communication with stakeholders to communicate work progress and outcome
- Monitor data governance metrics and SLAs, assuring required KPI levels are within established thresholds
- Supports Consistency of Usage analysis; gathers all necessary data inputs for analysis, understanding analysis objectives/outcomes and developing the appropriate analysis method, preparing and delivering analysis results, offering remediation insights.
- Perform impact analysis to reference data (domain/dimension, data elements/properties, base members/data sets, hierarchies) to ensure compliance with Data Governance principles
