Unity/React Developer (Contractor)
Job Description
Amplify is reimagining the way teachers teach and students learn. We believe technology can empower classroom teachers to offer more personalized instruction, and accelerate the potential of individual students to become more active, engaged learners.
We are actively seeking Unity/React developers to port games from Unity to React. Developers must also be able to document existing games and respond to changes and adjustments in game designs. Individual (s) will work with a cross-disciplinary project team in order to find the best fit for Unity-originating gameplay.
Amplify's COVID-19 vaccination policy requires all staff to provide proof of vaccination for in-person meetings unless an approved exemption is provided.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with older versions of Unity and update to current version
- Ability to generate comprehensive documentation for games
- Able to implement quickly, iterate, and then stabilize and integrate with a larger build
- Great C# skills (best practices in OOP, Unity framework, documenting, design patterns)
- Great React skills (Redux, component architecture, ES6+, clean CSS styling)
- Structured data management (e.g. JSON)
- Understanding of constraints online javascript games on ChromeBooks
- Responsive to feedback and adjustments
- Knowledge of Slack/Jira/Google Docs
- Knowledge of Git
Basic Requirements of the Unity/React Developer:
- 3+ years of Unity experience
- 2+ years of React experience
- BSCS or equivalent
- Experience building games and activities for children
- UI/UX studies and experience
Preferred Requirements of the Unity/React Developer:
- MS/MA in Game Design/Development
- Understanding of children's development and literacy
