Unix Systems Administrator

Diligent Consulting is searching for a full-time Unix Systems Administrator to join our team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operation of various severs including hardware/software support, and special projects.

Position Description/Summary:

Our multi-year government contract IT company needs a capable, motivated Red Hat System Administrator to work within a small team of Senior System Admins that are responsible for all aspects of the configuration and maintenance of US Government RedHat computer systems. If you have a passion for constantly updating your knowledge of hardware and software, working in an emerging Dev/Ops environment, working independently and being a team member, you will fit in well with our company.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for both hardware and operating systems issues
•  Manage the configuration and operation of RedHat and Solaris servers
•  Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
•  Respond to and resolve help desk requests via Remedy 
•  Configure, upgrade or patch operating systems as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
•  Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection, malware protection software and other processes
•  Running SCAP Scans, applying STIGs and other cybersecurity methodologies
•  Upgrade, troubleshoot and replace components in servers class systems

Minimum Position Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in RedHat system administration
• Associate or higher degree from accredited college with major in IT, engineering, science or mathematics
• Experience with creating, troubleshooting and maintaining virtual machines with VMware
• Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
• Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Secret Clearance
• US Citizen

A Plus but not required

• Current RedHat Certified System Administrator
• Knowledge of Solaris OS
• Working knowledge configuring and using Ansible and Satellite

Certifications Required by Contract:
CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
